Pressink

About

Kristína Uhráková plays with letter-forms to create cleverly executed typographic artworks. She graduated in graphic design from Central Saint Martins University in 2012 and in 2016, she founded Pressink studio, the first functional space dedicated to letterpress printing in Bratislava, Slovakia. As a typographic artist, she creates works that explore the intersection of form, color, and emotion. Drawing on bold shapes and vivid colors, she aims to capture the dynamic energy of our hyper-modern society. Through her work, she seeks to challenge traditional notions of typography and design by using abstract forms and unconventional layouts to provoke thought and stimulate the imagination. By pushing the boundaries of the form itself, she hopes to inspire viewers to see language not just as a functional tool, but as a powerful means of artistic expression that can evoke a range of emotions and reactions. Yet at the same time, her art is deeply rooted in the reality of everyday life, reflecting the complex and multifaceted experiences of contemporary society. Kristína strives to create works that capture the essence of our shared human experience.
